soccer4children Camp – January 2012 – Day 2

The second day of soccer4children started off with lots of enthusiasm as the children knew they had a day full of soccer waiting for them.

Breakfast was served at 7:30 followed by a 20 minute devotional where each child received a “My Book of Hope”, a book filled with devotionals and biblical content for the children to work through. Was’t long before coach Khulu took over and had the children running and practicing on the soccer field, developing different ball skills and techniques. After a solid lunch, the children had a short break and then jumped straight back into the soccer, letting the 5 different teams rotate opponents while playing short games against each other.

Everyone retreated to the pool in the early afternoon to cool down and relax before dinner.

4000 years in 4 hours, Ray Strydom did the first half of the “Walk Thru the Old Testament Seminar” with the children. After a long day behind them, the tired children all got involved as they gathered up the last of their energy doing the different hand signs of the Old Testament with greater enthusiasm than they thought they had left. Never before have they experienced the Bible taught in such a captivating way.

The evening drew to a close after the everyone settled down to watch a DVD, and prepare themselves for a good evenings rest, knowing tomorrow will be as demanding as today.
